ICICI Bank statement password: savings account and credit card
ICICI e-statements open with your name's first four letters in small letters plus your birth day and month, like rahu0503. Card formats, from ICICI's pages.

An ICICI Bank account e-statement opens with the first four letters of your name in small letters followed by your day and month of birth: RAHUL KUMAR, born 5 March, types rahu0503. For credit card statements ICICI's own pages disagree: one gives the same name and birth date format, another the last four digits of the card (4321). If one fails, try the other.
All examples use one made-up customer: RAHUL KUMAR, born 05-03-1990, account number 001234567890, card ending 4321.
Savings and current account e-statements
ICICI Bank's support page gives the password as eight characters (ICICI Bank):
| What you need | Example |
|---|---|
| First 4 letters of the account name, in small letters, no spaces or special characters | rahu |
| Then your day and month of birth as DDMM | 0503 |
| Password | rahu0503 |
Details from the same page:
- No salutation. Leave out Mr, Ms, Dr and similar; start with the name itself.
- Spaces are skipped. ICICI's own example for a business account, ABC Enterprises, starts with
abce: the letters run on past the space. - Current accounts use the day and month of incorporation instead of a birth date.
- Joint accounts use the first account holder's name and date of birth.
- Or the account number. The same page says you can also use your 12-digit account number as the password, such as
001234567890. The email that carries the statement shows the last two digits of the account in its subject.
Credit card statements
ICICI Bank's pages give two different formats, and neither says when the other applies.
Name and birth date. ICICI's help page on opening a credit card e-statement says: the first four letters of your name as it appears on the card, in small letters, then your day and month of birth as DDMM (ICICI Bank):
| What you need | Example |
|---|---|
| First 4 letters of your name on the card, in small letters | rahu |
| Then your day and month of birth as DDMM | 0503 |
| Password | rahu0503 |
Last four card digits. ICICI's page on credit card statements says the statement PDF opens with the last four digits of your credit card, 4321 in the example, including one downloaded from Net Banking, and that this password can't be customised or reset (ICICI Bank).
My advice: try the name and birth date first, then the last four digits. If the statement came by email, the email may also say which applies.
If it still won't open
- Small letters.
RAHU0503fails; typerahu0503. - Day before month. Born on 5 March:
0503, not0305. - The name as the bank has it. Use the account title or the name on the card, not a nickname or a shortened spelling.
- Account number instead. For an account e-statement, try your 12-digit account number.
- Both card formats. For a card statement, try the name and birth date format and the last four card digits.
- Ask the bank. For a card statement, ICICI Bank's support page points to Customer Care on 1860 120 7777, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., calling from your registered mobile.
Make an unlocked copy
Loan apps, the income tax portal and accountants often need the statement without a password. Once it opens:
- Open Remove Password and choose the statement.
- Type the password once.
- Download the unlocked copy. The statement is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
To get the transactions into a spreadsheet, run the unlocked copy through PDF to Excel. Other banks are covered in bank statement PDF passwords, with more detail for SBI and HDFC Bank.
